OBS and Overlay Studio, connected live
- The new PRO OBS Live Editor can read the active OBS scene and supported scene sources through the CloverCast Desktop bridge.
- Creators can adjust supported source position, size and rotation, toggle visibility and locking, change source order and switch OBS scenes from CloverCast.
- A CloverCast overlay can be added to OBS as a Browser Source without abandoning the live editing workflow.
Single PC first — remote control included
- Single PC is the default CloverCast streaming setup: OBS and CloverCast Desktop run together on the streaming PC.
- CloverCast Web and mobile can act as remote control surfaces through the authenticated Desktop bridge, so remote editing does not require Dual PC Mode.
- Dual PC remains an optional PRO workflow for creators whose OBS/streaming machine is physically separate.
FREE stays useful; Live Editor is PRO
- The standard Overlay Studio Design Editor remains available on FREE for building scenes, widgets, Browser Sources and overlays.
- OBS Live Editor is a PRO feature and is also available during the existing PRO trial, giving the subscription a production-focused upgrade without weakening the free editor.
- The existing PRO entitlement system is used across Desktop and Web rather than introducing a separate OBS Live Editor licence.
Why this is a Beta
- Desktop can request a lightweight OBS scene screenshot as a visual backdrop while editing supported source bounds.
- Remote Web and mobile editing currently focuses on scene/source layout and controls rather than a full low-latency composed OBS video preview.
- The first release deliberately focuses on supported transforms and scene controls. Richer preview, groups, filters, audio controls and broader OBS source handling can be expanded after real-world testing.
Built on OBS scene controls
- CloverCast treats OBS as the authoritative streaming and rendering engine. Overlay Studio is the visual editing and remote-control layer rather than a replacement for OBS.
- Changes are sent back to OBS through its WebSocket control surface, keeping the creator’s existing OBS scene collection at the centre of the workflow.
- Because this is the first public beta, creators should test the OBS Live Editor with their setup before relying on it during a production stream.
